I was discouraged and distracted until Holy Spirit reminded me of this
Do the last thing God told you and rest in his presence
In my mentorship group this week, a peer voiced her frustration around feeling stuck, shrinking back, and not knowing where to ask for help.
This sentence stood out, “which I am sure has delayed the help that those I am assigned to are in need of.”
Immediately, the Holy Spirit begins to download a response to these moments when we feel discouraged, distracted, or both.
I hope it encourages you wherever you are on the journey.
Welcome, this side is uncomfortable yet rewarding.
God first needs our willingness to acknowledge we can't do it alone or without him.
The good news is you have accepted both.
Now, let the fun begin.
As we learn about God as a Father:
Protector
Provider
Purpose-Giver
We must remember he has already factored in all the decisions we will ever make. That's part of the journey of becoming more like Him.
[...] When troubles of any kind come your way, consider it an opportunity for great joy. For you know that when your faith is tested (James 1:2-4), your endurance has a chance to grow. So let it grow, for when your endurance is fully developed, you will be perfect and complete, needing nothing.
Delay is not denial.
Delay is necessary.
Since God knows the beginning from the end, what we consider delay is pruning.
Why? Because you can identify with where you fell short and allow God to be to us what He's always desired.
Those who need you are on the other side of these lessons you are bravely facing.
Keep going.
What helped me crack the code of perfectionism was contentment and deep gratitude for my journey and path. There is no urgency to complete a task or arrive when we walk and make decisions from the place of relationship with God.
How can you miss out when you trust God?
Who is faithful to complete what he started in you?
Meditate on this: Trust in the Lord with all your heart (Proverbs 3:5-6); do not depend on your understanding. Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take.
There are no wrong decisions when we make decisions from the place of relationship with God. He uses our immaturity as a catalyst for growth and the agent for any redirection, pivots, or right turns. If you stop walking, remain standing.
Do the last thing God told you and rest in his presence.
From the place of rest, write down what God is saying about you.
