God has the final say
Obey anyways
I was chatting with my aunt today about decisions made out of obedience. I realized God shows up whenever and however He wants, and we really don’t have much say about how He goes about it.
And to the flesh…
God isn’t intimidated by the frustration.
He’s aware of everything that’s happening internally.
He also knows our end from the beginning as He is both alpha and omega; the middle moments never catch him by surprise.
Just us.
We’re in it.
We’re wrestling.
We’re figuring it out with or without him.
It isn’t until we’re through it that we see his hand in it and the decisions made from the place of maturity in relationship with Him. Yet, immaturity does not disqualify us. It continues to keep us tethered at his feet of dependence. We’ll never have it figured out, as the goal is to be perfected; transformed; molded to look more like him.
And that’s the thing: Romans 8:28.
God causes EVERYTHING to work together FOR THE GOOD of THOSE who LOVE GOD and ARE CALLED according to HIS purpose for them. Memorize this. Let it permeate every part of your mind and body. That when doubt comes in, remind yourself that you love God. And when you love God, you are called according to his purpose. Therefore, he will cause everything to work together for YOUR good.
This may not be exactly what you want, but it will meet your needs. And if you can surrender your desires for his, you’re one step closer to silencing your flesh. The flesh wants what it can not or should not have. Being in relationship with God asks of us to rest in the fact that he is good…
DESPITE current circumstances.
It will still work out for your good.
BECAUSE he is good.
And if you need help understanding that he is good, spend some time in the gospels, starting with the book of John as a gentle reminder.
Get acclimated with the heart of Christ to see yourself in the plans that he has for the redemption of humanity from the fallen human nature inherited by Adam.
God will ask you to do unconventional tasks, and maturity will have you only seek his validation. Please make a decision and stand by it, solely because it's what God said to you.
Obedience doesn't make sense to onlookers and sometimes ourselves. We are often talked out of the very thing God instructed us to do because we want familial approval.
If Moses ' mom knew putting him in a basket would land him inPharaoh'ss palace, I imagine shewouldn'tt have done it. Yet God will even shield us in obedience from the outcome of what our yes requires.
God is moving many strings behind the scenes to make our path straight.
As we figure it out, meditate on Romans 8:28 and Proverbs 3:5-6.
Trust him with the parts that don't make sense yet.
Obey anyway,
Janae Carlee.
