Process and pitfalls: When you see the challenges ahead of you
Have you ever felt humbled while undergoing the process of personal growth? It's that moment when you realize the greatness that lies ahead, but you're still living in the present, amid refinement.
You know what’s possible, what's before you, and the promises that God has given. You even keep account of the prophetic words released. But somehow, your present reality doesn't align with the future reality of what you know can come to pass.
I, too, find myself in this place—wanting to be everything God said I could be.
🙇🏾♀️ I recorded and wrote this journal entry before clicking on the “memories” section of Facebook. It looks like God is speaking because I wrote this in 2019.
However, I also have to be honest about the parts of me that still need molding and refinement. Self-sabotage has had me in a chokehold for far too long, but I am coming out of agreement with it in the name of Jesus.
I know I'm not the only one going through this.
I know I'm not the only one getting humbled by the process, all to become more like Christ. It's a journey filled with ups and downs, victories and setbacks, moments of clarity, and moments of confusion. And it's in these moments that we need to remind ourselves of the purpose and beauty of the process. A path filled with challenges and obstacles that test our commitment, resilience, and faith. It's in these moments of refinement that we learn important lessons about ourselves and our relationship with God. We discover our strengths and weaknesses, our areas of growth, and areas in need of healing. It's a humbling experience that strips away our pride and reveals our true selves.
God is with us every step of the way.
He knows the process intimately because He's the One overseeing it. He's the One who designed it specifically for us. He's the Potter, and we are the clay. He molds and shapes us, taking us from glory to glory, refining us into vessels that can reflect His image and fulfill His purpose.
So, if you're feeling humbled by the process, know that you're not alone. Embrace it. Embrace the journey of becoming. Trust that God is at work in you, even in the moments of refining. Surrender to His guidance, and allow Him to mold you into the person He created you to be. The process is not about reaching a destination; it's about the transformation that happens along the way. It's about growing closer to God and developing character.
Don't despise the process.
Embrace it, learn from it, and trust that the results will be worth it.
