"It’s never been about the future. It’s always about contentment in the now." Powerful reminder and words, Janae. Thank you for reminding us of the cost of obedience, and that the "heaviness" reveals who or what we truly trust in life. Keep writing, sister!
Thanks for reading! It’s been an amazing and beautifully difficult journey. However, we are better because of everything that requires an intentional yes and disciplined no. 🩵
This was so good! I was just chatting with a friend earlier about obedience. How difficult it can be to surrender the things you think are so small but not surrendering can be so costly. Like you said, it can add chapters to our story that God never intended but we serve such an unfathomably LOVING God. He still allows things work out for our good. 🥲 thank you for sharing this!!
Janae, you wrote my journey of faith here. Omg! The transitions and the uprooting and replanting where ever He leads and that internal battle of trusting the process and the journey to a place we don't know. But just like Abraham and his generations, He always provided. This was such a timely read for me and just reminds me that there are others like myself who are literally moving by Faith just because God said so. Thanks for your vulnerability and I look forward to reading more of your faith journey. I subscribed and I will be sharing mine too 😊
We are not alone! Thank you for sharing as well because it helps me see that I’m not crazy 😩😂. Even though walking by faith can feels lonely at times. This creates a sense of connection and reminds me that we have brothers and sisters all over the world who can empathize because we serve the same God. 🫶🏾
Thanks for being here! I’m a little delayed on my writings due to my pregnancy. I’m hoping to pick stuff back up soon.
“…But let me tell you, the sober-mindedness required with each step of obedience is where everything not of God gets revealed.”
To truly and fully obey the Father, I’m learning that it can only be by grace and mercy. By grace, we embrace the sober-mindedness required. By mercy, we are able to repent from that which is not of God that gets revealed. Our distrust, where our idols lie are often revealed as we walk the path of obedience and only His grace can empower us to do His will with His mercy stepping in when we fall short.
"Let what surfaces in your heart be dealt with through stillness, prayer...". I just finished reading a book by Dave Roberson which touches on the power of praying in the spirit. In the final chapters he broke down ways on which to do that. It resonated with me. Then I came across your post and you said the statement above right at the end. For me if felt like confirmation, and this is an area that o am looking to develop and improve upon this year and beyond.
Beautifully said! I think we are all in a place of transitioning. But one thing you said to hold on to. Is not to go ahead of God, what is in His will, will be for us🙏🏽

“intentional yes and disciplined no” - so good and AMEN!

It’s very difficult AND rewarding at the same time once we get through all that God wants to deal with or do. Whew! Thanks for reading 🩵

"Obey at the pace of grace. Surrender how you feel to how God orchestrates it. Haste, stress, and anxiousness are a terrible trio when obeying God."
Amazing piece
Thank you 🥹 and a good reminder.
Thank you, thank you, thank you 🙏🏾
Thank you for reading! What stood out the most?
Everything I needed it all

I’m interested in this book!! Wow. God is cool like that. Grateful that he connected us.
Amen to that sis! I am looking forward to reading more of your reflections & revelations
Enjoyed reading this. Thank you 🙏
“If it’s his will, He will provide” man if I could only internalize this, all of my worries would disappear. Amazing article!
So many key points. This hit the most “the sober-mindedness required with each step of obedience is where everything not of God gets revealed.”

Wheeew! Pass the offering plate! 💵
