When you're good at so many things
You can't afford to make excuses
What happens when you’re good at many things, and you’re burnt out before you can write anything down? Let me guess. You have incomplete tasks. You see the possibility but stop before you have an opportunity to see it through to completion. Then you become frustrated. In your head are a plethora of ideas, and you don't know where to focus.
This is for the one like me.
I, too, struggle with focus.
God is kind enough to send people along the way to keep me accountable.
I decided years ago to live in a decided place.
Now, the internal tug-of-ware has to be stewarded.
I break the cycle by focusing on one idea at a time, without excuse. I just do it.
For example, I decided to buckle down in October and grow my YouTube channel. Now that my Channel is monetized, I have a community (thanks to you) that guides me on the type of videos needed to help them grow in life, faith, and business.
I can now shift my attention to selling my journals.
Journaling is a huge part of my lifestyle. I journal to spend time with God, hear his voice, document what he speaks, or empty my brain of all the ideas that wrestle for my attention. It’s comforting to look back and see how God’s orchestrating my steps. Usually, when I get ready to focus on an idea, he has provided the blueprint. The writings are pieces to the larger picture. They only come together at God’s perfect time because I decided to write it all down.
I created my signature journal in 2020 during the pandemic. I designed it and found a vendor overseas. My journals arrived when I moved to Texas, leaving them behind. I was unsure how I would get my journals to me without spending the same amount as it took to ship from another country. With help from one of the fathers in my Texas community, we shipped my journals to his warehouse in 2022. This time, they arrived when I was getting married and lost my job. I’ve never had the opportunity to focus on selling them.
Plus, selling is daunting.
You’re putting something before people, asking them to see the vision God gave you and purchase something you created in the hopes that it will help them as much as it helped you.
I’ll be honest. I want to make an excuse, shrink back, and explain why I can’t sell these journals. I wish I could snap my fingers and they’d be sold, but that doesn’t allow me to endure the process. I can’t hide this time.
One thing no one can take from me is my relationship with Jesus. Yet, when it comes to business, my knees shake, and my voice trembles. It’s an area of weakness that needs God. What beauty! It’s a two-edged sword.
This next step in life requires deeper dependence.
If you’re like me, you’re ready to step into the uncomfortable because you know something extraordinary waits on the other side of your yes. This time, you will focus on one thing and see it complete as you:
Fight for your focus.
Depend on God.
Ask someone to keep you accountable.

I've had to be honest with myself and admit that I struggle with starting things and not finishing it. All these ideas God gives me, I get frustrated with my lack of stewardship. Working on breaking the cycle.
