New year or not—the growth you desire to see doesn’t have to wait until the latest year. You can start wherever you find yourself TODAY. It’s time to go after everything God said we can be without excuses.
In October, I decided to show up online, specifically on YouTube, as my most authentic self, posting content daily. Within two months, I went from having 400 subscribers (over seven years of inconsistent posting) to a thousand. A thousand subscribers on YouTube gets you closer to monetization.
When I lost my job, I realized I had an opportunity to focus on what brings me joy.
I love helping people see themselves the way God does
I find joy in using my voice to keep people accountable
I love leveraging technology for life and business
I find joy in writing and using design to accompany it
Pause and reflect on what brings you joy.
Knowing the above 👆🏾 brought me joy; I wondered what would happen if I took myself seriously for 365 days after permitting myself to evolve. Graphic design no longer sparks as much as writing does. I am at peace with it being a vehicle versus the driver. I started an “It only took a year” campaign a few years ago, but it paused because life started lifting. The campaign stemmed around this concept of what would happen a year from now if we committed to one thing today.
I simplified the “It only took a year” campaign inspired by the 12-week year model.
It’s time to execute intentionally.
I don’t want to be someone who talks about it. I want to become everything God said I could be, and you too.
To plan out your next 12 weeks, you have two options: 1️⃣ Watch the workshop video or 2️⃣ keep reading to see it in written form. I also created a notion template for my digital planners who want this already built out. Click here to access the notion template.
1️⃣ HOW TO SLAY YOUR GOALS IN 12 WEEKS OR LESS VIDEO:
2️⃣ HOW TO PLAN OUT YOUR NEXT 12 WEEKS’ OVERVIEW:
Once you evaluate, decide on your one-year vision. You can have one in various categories, i.e., business, personal development, or faith. If you want access to the notion template where this is set up for you, click here.
Rather than saying "I want," let's phrase them as "I will" statements. Communicating our goals this way establishes a clear intention and commitment to achieving them.
For example:
After you decide on your vision for the year, we must break down our larger goals into smaller, manageable focuses.
Let's take the example of wanting to grow 12,000 followers on TikTok in the next 12 months. You would divide this goal by four, resulting in a focus of generating 3000 followers over 12 weeks.
This approach allows us to set tangible targets and track progress more effectively.
Remember, these visions will remain constant throughout the year, while the focus and strategies may change to achieve each goal more effectively during the 12-week planning period.
For example:
After you break your one-year vision down into one focus for each vision, we will now break it down into the strategies we’ll use to execute and see growth over the next 12 weeks.
For example:
Then, after you set up a focus for each vision, you will have three. Write out your daily habits to keep you accountable for implementing your strategies.
For example:
Adjust your daily habits to make them realistic to accomplish your 12-week focus each week. Your strategies may evolve throughout the 12 weeks as you gain insights and adjust to changing circumstances. Flexibility is vital, and modifying your strategy is okay if needed. However, remain consistent with your progress and ensure each focus aligns with your larger vision.
Congratulations!
You know, you have a system to execute for the next 12 weeks to slay your goals. We love single-focused success for a multi-passionate. If you are an old-fashioned pen and paper, use this model to build it out. If you want a digital template already made, click here.
